Year 6: Weekly roundup

We have had a good first week of our final half term at St Mary’s. The pupils look fantastic in their hoodies.

They have worked hard on finding averages in different ways, writing stories and we have also started making cuddly toys for evacuees.

Homework this week is to choose a second activity from the Pupil Power homework sheet, given out before half term.

Next week

Leader Visit
On Monday next week, a photographer from the leader will be visiting to take a photo of our Year 6 Leavers. Pupils can of course wear their leaver’s hoodies for the photograph.

School Council and Eco Committee members – Important notice
Also on Monday afternoon, our 4 school council members and 2 eco committee members will be working in our forest school area. They will therefore need to bring a change of clothes in a bag (that they don’t mind getting dirty). This will avoid them getting their school skirts/trousers and leaver’s hoodies dirty before the photo is taken. Diolch.

In Maths and Numeracy, we will be reading, interpreting and creating different types of graphs.

We will continue to read ‘Letters from the lighthouse,’ using this as inspiration for artwork, writing apology notes and creating informative posters.

PE will be on Tuesday and Thursday, so pupils will need to come in in kit on these days. On Tuesday we are having a Boccia session and on Thursday we will have a game of rounders.
