Reception: Weekly round up!

Thank you for working so hard all week Reception. 🤩We are so impressed with how your phonics and reading is coming along. We can tell how much lots of you are practising your reading skills at home.
We have loved starting our new topic about the Queens Jubilee with a treasure hunt. We have thought of some super questions about what we want to find out about the Queen including What are her Corgi’s called? and How many windows does Buckingham Palace have? 👸#ambitious, capable learners.
We have been enjoying all our new classroom areas like our Buckingham Palace role play area and building different places in London in our Construction corner.
We have been learning about our teen numbers in Maths and are getting really good at writing and ordering bigger numbers now!
Welly Wednesday was lots of fun. Our garden is looking so colourful with all our new plants and we made some welly planters too. #healthy, confident individuals.
Next week, we will continue our Royal theme making some Jubilee crafts and planning for a Royal party. We will think about shapes and their properties to help us make some royal crowns.
Please could children come to school on Tuesday 17th May in their PE kits (not our usual Thursday), as we have a specialist teacher coming in to do some multi skills sports with us.
Welly Wednesday will be as normal. We still need more large round stones for our garden (about the size of an adult hand) as we are painting these.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend in the sunshine.
