Year 5: Week beginning 15 January

This week, we begun to read ‘Street Child’ .  I have been so impressed with our group discussions about the character’s personalities.  Next week, we will continue reading more and will retell from the point of view of another character.  We will be finding out about the jobs children did, how they were treated during the Victorian times.  We will be writing a diary entry in the role of a child.  Our Maths focus will be calculating perimeter of shapes.  We have been working hard on our Victorian paintings, and will continue with this next week.
P.E. will be on Wednesday and swimming on Thursday.  Reading books and homework  (asking  3 member of their family  questions about bread) are due in on Tuesday as usual.
We hope that you all have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Hodkinson, Mrs McCaffrey and Mrs Cheetham.
