Year 4: Weekly roundup

Another great week of learning Blwyddyn 4, da iawn. All pupils did a fantastic job performing our Harvest Poem and we enjoyed out first church service of the year.

Next week we will be continuing with our work on place value in maths and in literacy we will be doing some more descriptive writing, using 2A sentences and similes. We will alse be doing some drama based activities to take on the role of a character. In science we will continue to think about materials and their uses. We will design a house for a village in India that has monsoons. #AmbitiousCapableLearners

On Thursday we have a special show all about the Welsh settlers in Patagonia. We will spend some time next week learning about the journey to Patagonia on the Mimosa and consider what life was like for the first Welsh settlers who established the Welsh colony Y Wladfa. #EthicalInformedCitizens

We will also be starting to use the VIP room to complete missions. Pupils have been grouped into three mission groups and they are looking forward to developing the skills learned in the classroom through independent learning activities.  #EnterprisingCreativeContributors

PE will be on Monday (outdoor) and Wednesday (indoor). In outdoor PE you will continue to work on your football skills while indoor PE will focus on linking a series of standing and floor moves together to create a dance. #HealthyConfidentIndividuals

Homework this week is a maths activity focussing on adding/ subtracting 10, 100, 1000 from numbers. This will build on the work done in maths this week. Reading books are also coming home.

Reminders

  • Tuesday is Individual School Photos so please make sure all pupils are dressed in full uniform and bring their best smiles.
  • PC Hulley will be visiting school on Wednesday to deliver a whole school assembly.
