Year 6: Weekly round up!

Another week of excellent effort and excitement!
Themau: this week we have started reading ‘Letters from the lighthouse’ for our new topic. We created radio broadcasts and evacuation posters, inspired by the story. Next week will start writing our diary entries and continue designing our cuddly toys.
Maths: We have been looking more closely at place value and recapped how to divide and multiply by 10, 100, and 1000. We were very impressed with the effort shown today when we also looked at converting fractions to decimals.
R.V.E – Another wonderful Eucharist service led by year 6. It’s lovely to see more people joining each week.
P.E – The focus this week has been on pupil voice and teamwork. For badminton, year 6 were able to design their own activities to develop a specific skill. We continued with team-building exercises today and we are very proud of the progress everyone is making.
Homework and reading books are both due next Thursday. The homework is the same sheet since the start of term. Choose an activity linked to our topic from the sheet and present it however you’d like. I have been very impressed with some of the high-quality pieces coming into school. I look forward to seeing more next week!
Have a wonderful weekend!
