Year 6: last week

It was a frosty week at St Mary’s last week, but that didn’t stop our learning!

Maths – Last week we were exploring Area, Perimeter, and Volume. On Monday, Year 6 hunted the classroom with their rulers to measure the area and perimeter of various shapes.

On Tuesday, Year 6 were very lucky to have members of Senedd Cymru visit to talk about what the Senedd does and how Year 6 can use their voices to change the world.

Throughout the week, we had multiple Themau lessons exploring our new topic ‘Symud’. We explored how to weigh objects using Newton meters and found out how much they would weigh on the moon. It was a very practical and full-on week.

Homework and reading books are due on Thursday the 25th of January. Maths homework was sent home on Thursday the 18th. All reading books and replacement blue books were sent home on Friday. Please only send in books if they needs changing before Thursday, otherwise they only need to be sent in on Thursday.

This week: P.E will be on Thursday morning (outside) and Friday afternoon (indoors).
