Year 4: Weekly update

Blwyddyn 4 have loved the first week of our new topic. They came up with some excellent ideas for our missions this half term and they are really looking forward to all of the activities that we have planned.

Next week in maths we will be working with 4-digit numbers up to 9999. We will continue to read Charlotte’s Web and if the weather holds out we will be going on a habitat hunt around our school environment.  In our science and technology work we will be learning about vertebrates and invertebrates and we will have a go at creating branching databases to sort and classify animals.

Homework and reading books are coming home today. Homework is either a short spelling activity or a multiple choice reading comprehension.

PE will be outside on Monday and swimming on Thursday.

During our swimming this half term the swimming teachers will be focussing on water safety. They have requested that pupils bring shorts and tee-shirt that they can wear in the pool each week. Some weeks the pupils may not wear them but the staff at the leisure centre have requested that they are sent each week if possible please just in case.

We hope that you have a lovely weekend.
