Year 2: Weekly Overview

This week we have launched our new topic of The Great Fire of London. The children have enjoyed learning about the fire and wondered why it was called the Great Fire when it caused so much devastation!
We have ordered the events of the fire and we were shocked to learn it went on for 4 days! The children enjoyed learning about and sketching the old St Paul’s Cathedral. During PE, we practised passing a ball from person to person to recreate the buckets of water being passed from the river to the fire. In maths we have continued with addition and subtraction of 2 digit numbers.
Next week, we will be looking at how things have changed since the Great Fire of London and we will be looking at fire safety.
Please remember to come dressed suitably for Muddy Monday on Monday and bring your wellies. Please remember book bags too (your spellings are inside your reading records).
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Thomas, Mrs McCaffrey and Mrs Probin.
