Reception: Weekly round up!

It’s been another busy week in Reception Class! They say time flies when you are having fun!
Concert rehearsals are well underway now!
All children have come home with a slip to tell you which character they will be and any costumes pieces they might need. We are lucky to have most costumes in school already, but we might ask for things like leggins and tights to be bought from home. Please send these in ready and labelled, in a named carrier bag, by the 8th Dec.
We’ve loved dressing up for Pudsey Day today and had lots of fun dancing, playing Pudsey says, decorating pudsey biscuits, doing some spotty crafts and having a teddy bears picnic.
Next week, we will continue with our bear theme by reading some favourite bear stories like ‘Peace at Last’. We will create our own sound stories based on the book and will even create something ‘beary’ tasty for our snack!
Children have come home with a sheet asking them to bring their own teddy to school next Tuesday, to help us learning about old and new toys. I’ve got my teddy ready too! 🐻🐻🐻
I have also sent a phonics sheet with our first set of sounds on. Please could you spend some time looking at these together. They could be cut out and stuck up in your house or made into a flip book. Children need to be able to say the sound and think of objects that have that sound in. We have loved playing ‘I spy’ in class this week, perhaps you could try this at home too.
Have a great weekend everyone.
