We have had a lovely first week back in Blwyddyn 6. Yesterday, we launched our first topic, ‘Ein Byd.’
When we came into class in the morning, there was a large present on the carpet.
We made predictions about what could be inside. We had discussions in our groups, trying to justify our ideas.
We opened the present…
Inside, we found a globe, representing our world.
We thought about how our world is a gift from God and how it is our job to protect it. We shared the story, ‘Mother Earth is weeping,’ by Claire Donald, which highlights the pain and suffering in the world, but also how young people are our hope for a brighter future.
We also used our ‘Pupil Power’ to share ideas of what we would like to learn about, as well as ideas for our independent challenges. We also used Jamboard to consider how we can be good citizens – of our school, our local area and our world.
This has given us lots to think about for the topic ahead.

Pupils have been given reading books and a homework activity today. The homework and blue reading records need to be returned on a Thursday please.
Have a lovely weekend all!
