Year 6: This week and next

We have had an enjoyable week in Blwyddyn 6. I’m sure the pupils would agree that the highlight was the Wrexham Athletics event at Plas Madoc. Pupils have also worked hard on finding percentages of amounts of money. Today, they have been using this skill to plan a trip to Paris. They had to see if they could find a better deal than the one being offered by ‘Bargain City Breaks.’ They seemed to enjoy being travel agents!

Next week, we will continue to work on percentages, before moving on to multiplying and dividing fractions.
We will present information about air and water resistance. We will also think more about how we can capture movement – we will do some printing and also revisit using Stop Motion and models to create a “fitness video.”

We will have PE on Tuesday, so kits will be needed. Homework is to sketch from a photo (pupils have been sent home with the photographs of themselves showing expression). Try to remember the things we have worked on in class – shape, proportion and tone. Please return the sketches and photographs by next Friday.
