Year 6: The Week ahead

We have had a great full week back at school. In particular, the pupils have written and shared some wonderful autobiographies this week and have shown excellent attitudes to their learning – da iawn pawb!
Pupils have brought home Maths homework today – this needs to be completed and returned by Thursday of next week please. Reading books will begin to be sent home with them next week.
Next week, we will use our speaking and listening skills to retell the story of ‘The Talking Skull.’ We will continue to read, write and compare decimal numbers and will also begin to use mental and written addition methods.
For our ‘Ein Byd’ (‘Our World’) topic, we will focus on holidays, interviewing each other about past holidays, creating bar graphs showing our favourite holiday destinations and writing holiday reviews. We will also create a landscape sketch of our favourite holiday destination, using a photo found online as a stimulus.
We will look at current news events from around the World and summarise a news story – perhaps you could prepare for this at home by watching Newsround or having a look at a newspaper.
In RE, we will explore representations of the Holy Trinity, using ideas to create our own. We will further develop our listening skills in Cymraeg.
PE kits will be needed on Thursday again please – remember to come to school dressed in them. Have a lovely weekend!
