Year 6: The week ahead

Da iawn Blwyddyn 6! You have been learning lots again this week. We have been particularly impressed with your ideas and enthusiasm for our topic Ein Byd.
Next week, we will use another of your wonderful ‘Pupil Power’ ideas from our launch. You will be using your confidence and creativity in order to produce informative videos, explaining to parents why recycling, reusing and avoiding our rubbish going to landfill is so important. We are looking forward to seeing pupils become “directors” and lead on this task, deciding for themselves on what will make their videos successful.
In preparation for this, we will follow on from our work this week and investigate more about how items can be reused. We will explore the advantages and disadvantages of landfills, and use our findings to write an exposition text.
After our lovely afternoon outside sketching this week, we will sketch some more next week, using viewfinders and thinking about perspective.
Our Maths focus next week will be time. We have been converting kg and g, l and ml this week and will use this skill next week to convert between 12- and 24- hour time.
Next week, we will have Values Day and we will be thinking about the christian value of thankfulness. We will also begin to celebrate Harvest.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
