Year 6: The week ahead

Pupils of Blwyddyn 6 have worked incredibly hard again this week. They have shown some great teamwork in paired activities and have performed a retelling of ‘The Talking Skull’ with such confidence! #HealthyConfidentIndividuals. Next week, we will be adapting the story to write our own versions.
We will continue to work with decimal numbers in Mathematics and Numeracy next week, using different strategies to add them. We will also solve problems involving decimal numbers.
For Expressive Arts next week, we will be experimenting with line, shape and tone, as well as listening to the music of Saint Saens. We will find out about the composer and listen to his music ‘Carnival of the animals,’ allowing us to imagine animals from all over the world.
We will continue with our work on world news, this time by looking at a natural disaster that has occurred. We will read news reports and use our research skills to find information. #EthicalInformedCitizens
Next week is Bible story week, where we will read the story of Adam and Eve, thinking about what happens to our relationship with God when we sin and what we can do to rebuild it.
This week’s homework is on our Google Classroom and is called ‘My Dream Holiday Destination 1.’ All pupils added themselves to the classroom and all log ins work and have been used in class.
We will be using the work done at home to do further work in class too. Please complete no later than Thursday. Also, please remember that reading books are due in on Monday morning please.  PE will be on Thursday again and pupils will need to come to school dressed in kit.
Have a lovely weekend!
