Year 6: The week ahead

Next week in Blwyddyn 6, we will be building on our skills in Maths, with a focus on multiplication. We have been multiplying fractions and decimals this week and will move on to using short and long multiplication methods.

We will be beginning a class reader text, ‘The Snow Spider,’ by Jenny Nimmo. This book links to our topic and is an exciting fantasy story. Next week, we will make predictions about the story and begin to write character studies. This will involve hot seating activities too. #HealthyConfidentIndividuals
We will continue to work on writing personal information in Welsh. We will also work together in groups to compose music, using a Welsh landscape for inspiration.

Nant BH – There will be a meeting afterschool on Wednesday, regarding the upcoming Nant BH residential. Information has already been sent via email, but this will be an opportunity for us to answer any questions parents might have about the visit.
Homework – This week, homework is to select a Welsh musician or music group and present information on them, to share with the class. Pupils can present this on paper, or can use google slides, google docs, MS tools on Hwb or even Adobe web page – the options are endless! Pupils have been informed today and there is some information on our Google Classroom too.
