Year 6: The week ahead

Well done Blwyddyn 6 for your hard work this week. Your homework this week is to complete a Platinum Jubilee poster, for the Friends of Ruabon Competition. These will need to be handed in no later than first thing on Friday morning, as they will be collected and taken away to be judged. Details of the competition were posted earlier this week on the website, and I have put them on our Google Classroom too.
A letter has also been emailed to parents today regarding an upcoming Cricket Festival that Blwyddyn 5 and 6 will be taking part in after half term. We look forward to our trip to Brymbo Cricket Club where we will be representing our school. We will team up with Blwyddyn 5 after half term in preparation for the festival, to brush up on our bowling, batting and fielding skills!
Next week, we will be celebrating the Platinum Jubilee! Our particular focus will be on Queen Elizabeth’s contributions to the Armed Forces and her faith. Here are just a few of the things we have planned:
We will be listening to her first ever radio broadcast and writing newspaper reports. #AmbitiousCapableLearners
We will also be finding out about her time in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War 2.
In preparation for our celebrations on Friday, we will be designing and making headwear, using the Platinum Jubilee as inspiration. Keep a look out for plenty of photos next week!
On Wednesday, we will be holding our Eucharist Service with Canon Pam. We have been busy preparing readings, prayers and songs and are very much looking forward to joining together in worship.
We will still have PE on Thursday, so please remember to wear kit to school on that day.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
