Year 6: The week ahead

Prynhawn da Blwyddyn 6. We hope that you have enjoyed the long weekend. We have lots planned for this coming week.
We will be looking for common factors and multiples in Mathematics this week. We will also be working with prime numbers. We will also be thinking about money management in our PSD session this week. #AmbitiousCapableLearners
We launched our new topic, ‘Rhyfel a Heddwch’ last week. This week, we will be looking at causes of conflict and using our findings to write an explanation text. We will focus on World War 2, also creating a timeline to help show cause and effect.
We will start to read another book as a whole class. The book is linked to our topic.
All will be revealed!
In Cymraeg, we will be having conversations in pairs, taking on the roles of evacuees and billeting officers. We will be revising the skill of asking for and providing personal information. #HealthyConfidentIndividuals
Diolch pawb, for your great pupil power ideas during our launch last week. We have adapted our challenge area in class to help incorporate your ideas – I am sure that you will enjoy having time to choose and work on a challenge this week.
We will be having visitors to class this week – on Wednesday, Canon Pam will be visiting us again and on Thursday we are having a transition visit from youth workers from Ysgol Rhiwabon. This will be a beneficial session for all pupils, regardless of which secondary school you are going to in September.
Please remember to wear PE kit on Thursday this week for your next tag rugby session.
On Friday, it will be party time! We will be spending the afternoon enjoying our marble jar treat – a class disco! More details will be given to pupils in class this week. Check out Google classroom to help create a playlist.
Please remember to return your reading books/at least your blue reading record by Thursday this week. Diolch.
