Year 6: The end of another week/Next week

We have had another good week in Blwyddyn 6 and pupils have continued to work very hard. They completed their character studies about the characters we have met from ‘The Snow Spider,’ and have also produced some beautiful poems about the spider herself, Arianwen.

We are enjoying the story and are looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Today, we have enjoyed wearing red for Comic Relief/Red Nose Day and having some time for some Comic Relief puzzles and games. It was lovely to watch Blwyddyn 3’s class assembly this morning too.

We have worked hard in Maths, solving some tricky multiplication problems using different methods, including long multiplication.
Our footballers played brilliantly on Tuesday and their behaviour was superb as always. #HealthyConfidentIndividuals

Next week
On Monday, we will be heading off on our residential to Nant BH. We are excited for our trip, and I am sure all pupils will thoroughly enjoy it – let’s pray that the weather is kind to us! We will welcome pupils via the breakfast club door with their luggage on Monday morning and please remember parents, any medications need to be labelled with your child’s name and instructions and handed to staff on the door. Many thanks.
The bus will be leaving school at 9am. Please feel free to wave us off, but do not worry if you cannot stay. You will receive text updates to let you know that the children have arrived at Nant BH safely and another to let you know the estimated arrival time on Wednesday. We will try to upload some pictures to the website whist we are there, Wi-Fi permitting!

Pupils not coming along to Nant BH have lots of things planned too, including two forest school sessions, helping out with our Reception and Year 2 pupils.
After our trip, we will be reading more of ‘The Snow Spider,’ and will also explore the Welsh stories of ‘The Mabinogion.’ We will be creating comic strips too. Thursday is Values Day and we will be thinking about the value of forgiveness. #EthicalInformedCitizens

I have not assigned a new homework this week, as last week’s homework was only handed to pupils on Monday, and because most of the class will be on our residential for most of next week. As this is the case, please make sure that I have your maths multiplication homework that was handed out on Monday and check Google Classroom for anything outstanding too please.
Have a lovely weekend – see you all on Monday morning!
