Year 6: The end of an exciting week/The Week ahead.

Well done to all pupils of Blwyddyn 6 for working so well this week. It has been an exciting week and our Community Project for ‘Ein Byd’ is really coming together. #EthicalInformedCitizens #EnterprisingCreativeContributors #AmbitiousCapableLearners
Next week, we will continue to work on time in Maths. We will also revisit subtraction strategies, such as the “frog” method and column subtraction.
We have been learning a lot about recycling. Next week, we will find out about local recycling schemes and create leaflets, informing people of the importance of recycling and how to do it. We will also design a product that we will later make, reusing materials that would have otherwise been thrown away – Please see our Google Classroom for more information and weekly updates on this. This will be your homework over the coming weeks.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time spent outdoors in previous weeks, sketching our local environment. We enjoyed using viewfinders this week and will also experiment with rubbings next week.
In Welsh, we will be expressing opinions, saying what we like and dislike and explaining why. On Thursday, we will be visiting Ysgol Rhiwabon for the morning. Pupils will need sensible footwear and a jacket/coat please. On Thursday afternoon, we will be visiting the Prayer Stations. Because of this, pupils WILL NOT require PE kit on Thursday. Could they please come to school dressed in PE kit on Friday next week instead. Thank you.
Please look at our Google Classroom for homework information and remember to bring in reading books/records on Monday please. We hope that you have a lovely weekend!
