Year 6: The end of a lovely week/Next Week

We have had a great week this week, with many pupils completing their Cycle Training and all pupils taking art in a lovely glass workshop this morning. We have enjoyed the sunshine this week too and the opportunity to prepare for our sports day.
Homework this week is a Maths sheet, following on from our work on calculating averages. Reading books were sent yesterday and must be returned by next Thursday please.
Next week, we have some visits from members of staff from Penley and Ysgol Rhiwabon, helping us to prepare for our transition to secondary school. We will continue to read ‘Letters from the Lighthouse,’ and write descriptive poems about lighthouses, looking at imagery.
We will be looking for patterns in number sequences, using patterns to work out later numbers. We will also be calculating ratio and probability.
Next week is Refugee Week 2022. Our topic is ‘Rhyfel a Heddwch’ and so we will be learning lots about the plight of refugees around the world and specifically the work of the British Red Cross and what they do to help. We will think about their pledge ‘Every Refugee Matters,’ and come up with ideas as a class as to what we can do to help too.
PE will be on Thursday next week, so please remember to come to school dressed in kit.
Reminder: There will be a meeting in the Hall for parents of pupils going to Nant BH at 3:30pm on Tuesday. Diolch.
Have a lovely weekend!
