Year 6: Next week

We hope that you have stayed safe and enjoyed some time in the snow over the past couple of days.

I had already prepared a Maths sheet for this week’s homework so I will hand this out to you on Monday. In the meantime, please check Google Classroom to make sure that last week’s homework (Welsh musicians) is completed. Don’t forget that there are links on our classroom to some games and videos that you can access again if needed too.
Next week
We will be using long multiplication to multiply 3- and 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. We will also be solving problems using multiplication, before moving on to classifying and identifying properties of different quadrilaterals and knowing what the angles in different 2D shapes add up to.
We will learn about life in the Temple during Bible times and compare this to places of worship today. We will continue to read ‘The Snow Spider,’ and will be writing poetry, inspired by the spider itself.

PE will be on Wednesday and Thursday next week. Pupils will need to wear kit on these days – remember that this is trainers, black tracksuit bottoms/leggings, a white t-shirt and your school jumper or cardigan can be worn over the top.

Tuesday – Football
All boys involved in the tournament on Tuesday will be given a kit to bring home on Monday. They are to come to school in this on Tuesday please. Please see emails sent previously for further information. The boys will need a packed lunch and drink with them please and extra layers under kits might be a good idea given the recent weather! We look forward to accompanying them for what should be another exciting tournament.

On Friday next week, we will be celebrating Red Nose Day. Pupils are invited to come to school wearing something red. Any donations for Comic Relief will be gratefully received and are payable via ParentPay please. Diolch.
Enjoy what is left of the snow Blwyddyn 6! We will see you back in school on Monday. Stay safe!
