Year 6: Investigating gravity

We have been finding out more about gravity today. We carried out some research. using different sources of information. We also discussed the difference between the weight and mass of an object – mass is the amount of matter in an object, whereas weight is the force of gravity on it.

We measured the weight of different objects in grams, then divided this by 100 to find the force in Newtons (N). We then found 1/6 of each amount, linking to our Maths from last week. By finding one sixth, this told us the weight each object would be on the Moon!
#AmbitiousCapableLearners

We also had some Challenge Time this afternoon. Some pupils did workouts, some created animations, explaining the importance of being active, others found the names of different sports in French… Lots of independent learning!
