Year 5: Week beginning 6 December

Pnawn da pawb!
I am very proud of how hard everyone tried with our Maths this week – da iawn.  This week, we will have another session multiplying by 20, 25 and 9 using our doubling and halving skills. Later this week, our focus will be changing between 12 and 24 hour clocks.
Mrs Hughes will be continuing to share ‘A Christmas Carol’ with you and the focus will be writing a synopsis of each chapter.  The spelling focus is homophones such as using to and too.
We will be continuing researching Queen Victoria and will use this to write a biography.  For Welsh sessions, we will be answering questions based on Bryn Williams and use this as a WAGOLL (What A  Good One Looks Like) for our own work.
For R.E., we will be looking at the Church Colours for different times of the year and finding out about Christian and Jewish festivals.  Friday, we will be making our Christingle oranges.  We can also sing some more Christmas carols – I have enjoyed listening to you all singing.
Please make sure that your homework is completed on Google Classroom and your reading book is in school tomorrow.  If you would like to bring in Christmas cards, please bring them in at the same time as your reading book either tomorrow or next Monday and we can isolate them before handing them out.  P.E. will be on Tuesday as usual.  Also, could you bring in any empty kitchen roll tubes, we will need them in by 17 December, ready to make some Victorian Christmas crackers the last week of term.
See you all tomorrow.
Mrs Hodkinson, Mrs Hughes, Mrs Leighton and Mrs Edwards.
