Year 5: Week beginning 27 February

Well done to Blwyddyn 5 for working so hard – I am very proud of you all.  I hope that you all have a lovely half term break.  We have had a busy week, especially making our bread.  I hope all family members enjoyed sampling them.  We have been working on subtraction using borrowing and will continue to work on this after half term.  We read more of our book  ‘Around the world in 80 days’ today and I left it on a cliffhanger.  We will finish reading it after half term and use Adobe to make ‘Travellers Guides’.  Our Art focus is sketching still life, so we will use these skills to sketch daffodils for our Eisteddfod competition.  On Wednesday, everyone can either wear tradtional Welsh costumes or red as part of our St. David’s Day celebrations.  On Friday, we will be having our ‘World Book Day’, producing graphs to show our favourite authors and playing ‘guess the character’.
Our P.E.s will remain the same – Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Reading books and homework (research facts about a place you would like to visit – anywhere in the world).
Have a lovely week and see you all soon
.
