Year 5: Advent

Good morning,

It is the first Sunday of Advent today. I hope you all enjoy opening the first door of your calendars to see what you have inside.
Also, if you are going to church today you will see them lighting the first candle of the advent wreath.

We will be learning more about Advent this week during RE sessions. We will also read the next two chapters of The Witches (which will only leave us with one left for next week) and writing newspaper articles about ‘The Triumph.’ We will be going onto the NASA website to look at images of the planets and creating some solar system artwork. In maths we will be moving on from long multiplication to do some work on division. In themau we will be doing some map work with our river topic before we move on to look at coasts.
I hope that you’ve all had a good weekend so far and have had a think about your homework, which was ‘What does Advent mean to you?’
