Year 4: Weekly roundup

Another great week of hard work, fun and learning. Unfortunately Liam did not come in to do our real PE session and we missed out on swimming due to the snow but we made up for it by having lots of fun painting our chairs, completing missions and mastering fractions and decimals.

We will finish off our work on fractions and decimals and then move onto adding two 4-digit numbers using the column method. Mrs Hughes will be doing a problem solving activity based on this on Monday. In literacy we will be writing our own versions of Alice in Wonderland using the characters and setting we created last week. In humanities we will learn about Tudor houses and we might even use some 3D design software to draw one! Due to the snow days we did not plan our science investigation for magnetism so that will carry over to next week.

PE will be on Monday and swimming will be on Thursday.

Our worship theme for the week is ‘People who help us’.

We will also start our next cycle of missions in the VIP room where we use what we have learned in the classroom to help us to work independently to improve our skills and knowledge in four curriculum areas.

Please remember that it is parents evening on Monday and Tuesday. We are really looking forward to welcoming you back into school to see what your children have been up to and to have a face to face chat.
