What an amazing first week back in school we have had! From our topic launch, to PE with Liam and then ending the week with a visit from PC Hulley to talk to us about drugs! In amongst it all we have been busy starting our new learning all about The Tudors and we have made predictions about the story Alice in Wonderland. We have also been busy measuring in cm and mm. This weeks homework is a continuation of our measuring work.
Next week we will be learning how to use the column method when adding in maths. In our language, Literacy and Communication work we will de describing settings and writing dialogues between the mad hatter and Alice in Welsh. In Science and technology we will be investigating chairs and the structures that make them stable. We will also becoming Tudor Apothecary’s and prescribing herbal remedies for different ailments the Tudors faced. In our humanities work we will be learning about the events of The Battle of Bosworth. I have also timetabled some time for the pupils to share any achievements that they have added to their Digital Portfolios at home and they are really looking forward to this.
Please remember that PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday for this half term (apologies for any confusion caused this week). Liam will be joining us again on Wednesday for another Real PE session.
Homework and reading books are coming home today, please return them by Thursday next week to allow us time to change the books.
Have a lovely weekend, I think the pupils will be in need of plenty of rest after our busy week!
See you all next week,
Mrs Williams, Mr Kuiper and Mrs Probin
