Year 4: Weekly roundup

Blwyddyn 4 have been designers this week. They have used all that they have learned about thermal insulators to design a coat for Michael from Kensuke’s Kingdom to keep him warm and dry in a storm. The pupils have spent some time researching coats and have combined this with their understanding of thermal insulators to design a unique coat. Their designs are fantastic!

Next week is a busy one! PE will be on Monday but with the weather as unpredictable as it is please dress warm and bring a coat.

It is our dress rehearsal on Tuesday and we are looking forward to seeing other classes dress rehearsals throughout the week. Our concert is on Wednesday and we can’t wait for you all to see it, the pupils have worked very hard.

Next week our maths focus will be all about budgeting. The pupils will be given holiday information and they will be choosing a holiday destination, flights, luggage and a hotel all within a budget. We will also be learning about different types of extreme weather and working in groups to create a slide show to inform others. In our literacy work we will be writing from the perspective of Kensuke and we will complete a character analysis of Michael.

We will be starting our festive fun with craft activities and a trip to the panto on Friday morning. Pupils may bring their drink and snack to the panto with them but please try to send snacks that do not make a lot of mess as they panto have a short turn around between shows.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Williams, Mrs Burgess and Mrs Probin
