Year 4: Weekly roundup

We have had a very busy first week back at school. All pupils have enjoyed starting our new class book Kensuke’s Kingdom. They have also worked hard to create some beautiful poppy prints which we then collaged together to make a large poppy which we have displayed for Remembrance Day. We have ended the week by making and sharing iMovies about our church.

Next week we will continue to read Kensuke’s Kingdom, we will finish our balanced arguments and then we will recap letter writing when we write a letter home as Michael. We will be locating the places that Michael has visited so far on a map and then as part of our humanities work we will begin to research some of the locations as a holiday destination. In maths we will move on to our 7 times tables and in science we will be using thermometers the measure the temperature of water.

PE will be on Monday so please remember to come in your kits. We will also begin to rehears our concert so please remember to bring your lines back into school on Monday.

Homework this week is a six times tables maths activity. We have spent some time today looking at ow tom complete this sheet but if anyone is stuck please let us know and we can have a look at it in school.

PC Hulley is visiting Year 4 next Friday to talk to us about drugs. It is also Children in Need day so pupils can come to school in yellow or sports to show their support for Pudsey.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Williams, Mrs Burgess and Mrs Probin.
