Year 4: Weekly round up

What another busy week we have had in Year 4! We have carried on mastering our times tables in maths and we finished the week using them to crack Pudsey’s Code. We have finished our work on recounts and are ready to start writing stories next week. We have had a think about what we want our stories to be about and we will plan them using a story mountain next week.

Next week we will also become travel planners. We are going to be set the challenging of planning a holiday, excursions, flights and transfers as well as packing a suitcase with suitable clothing and calculating the cost of the luggage. We will have a maximum budget of £3500 and we can choose between budget hotels or luxury spa hotels. When we have finished we will present out holiday packages to the class with the total cost and the class will vote for the best holiday. We are also looking forward to carrying out our science investigation to find out which material will keep ice the coldest for the longest. We have been busy planning it and writing instructions for the method this week.

Homework this week is just reading books as I would like the children to focus on learning their lines. Please help them to learn their lines and use appropriate expression. The children have doe a wonderful job learning the songs and it has been lovely to hear them singing. As an added extra the class can access times tables blast om Hwb if they would like to.

Have a wonderful weekend.
