Year 4: Our final week

Year 4 absolutely blew me away with their maths last week. They have been confidently adding multiples of 100 and 10 to 4 digit numbers. As a final challenge this week we will have a go at subtracting from a 4-digit number.

There will be no PE this week as we will be busy finishing off Charlotte’s Web and creating posters. We also have the Year 6 leavers service and a special assembly at the end of the week.  However, with the nice weather we will definitely make sure that we pop out for some games during the week.

I will be sending books home on Wednesday so please can you send your children into school with a bag or carrier bag so that they can carry their books home.

On Thursday we will be having a DT day. The pupils will be investigating nets of shapes and will then have a go at making 3D shapes with nets. Then they will design their own packaging and create some graphics for it.

On Friday we will end our year together by watching Charlotte’s Web in the morning and then having some fun in the afternoon.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for their continued support this year. Your children have all been pleasures to teach and I am so proud of each and every one of them. I’m going to be sad to see them leave at the end of this week. However, they are super excited for moving up and I know that they are going to be wonderful Year 5s.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
