Here are your two tasks:
Today, similar to last week you will be dividing. The difference? This time there may be some remainders!
Remainders are simply numbers that are left over, E.g. My classroom comfortably fits thirty pupils in. Pupils come over in groups of nine. How many groups of pupils can fit in this room?
If two groups of nine enter my classroom, that would be 9 + 9 = 18 pupils.
If I added another group, that would be 9 + 9 + 9 = 27 pupils (Fine!)
If four groups arrived, that would be 9 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 36 (Too many!)
So the answer would be 3 groups of nine (27), remainder (3) or 3 r3
Notice how these two numbers add up to 30?

2) Non Fiction
So far you have…..
– looked at exposition texts,
– come up with a success criteria for writing exposition texts,
– edited an exposition text.
Usually at this point I would now get you to work in a group or with a partner in class to plan/ write your own exposition text! As this is not an option, instead I would like you to do this but with the support of an adult/ older sibling 🙂 If you do not have anybody who can support you, e.g. due to them being at work, please do this independently.
Choose from the following three topics to write your exposition about… -Should manufacturers use less packaging for their products? -Are boys and girls equal? -Should children be allowed their own tablet/ mobile phone?
