Year 3: A great first week back/Next week

Da iawn to all pupils of Blwyddyn 3 for working so hard this week.
I have set homework on Google Classroom called ‘Adding to 100.’ Reading books that had been returned last Monday were sent home yesterday. Please return these on Monday if complete.
Next week, we will be doing lots of measuring in Maths. We will be using rulers and tape measures to measure lines and objects to the nearest cm. We will also be measuring capacity of different containers in ml.
We have worked hard on our diary writing this week. We have edited and improved our work, checking spelling, punctuation and adding in adjectives, time connectives and emotion words. Next week, we will publish our writing on tea-stained paper, ready to display.  We will also consider why the Celts had hillforts. We will carry out research in preparation for explanation writing. We will also look at a WAGOLL explanation text (What A Good One Looks Like) for tips and ideas.
We had another message from Bronwen the Celt yesterday. She has asked for our help. We are going to be designing alarms to keep their roundhouses secure. Next week, we will investigate different types of switches and begin to formulate design ideas.
Our Becws Rhiwabon will become a Siop Dillad! We will begin to use our role play area to learn the welsh words for different items of clothing. In coming weeks, we will become a Siopwr or a Cwsmer to try asking and answering questions in our shop too.
In RE we will learn about the Ten Commandments and make our own commandments for a happy school! Please remember to come to school dressed in outdoor PE kit on Tuesday, ready for some more golf.
Wednesday afternoon will be Wellbeing Wednesday with Mrs Paxton. On Wednesday morning, we will be having a Celts Virtual Workshop, provided by Museum Wales. The session will take place via Teams and will last approximately 45 minutes. Please see the separate website update (sent yesterday) for more information.
Have a lovely weekend!
Mrs Burgess, Miss Powell and Mr Kuiper
