Year 3: 22/6/20 Home Learning Update

Bore da! I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for the week ahead.
Remember to keep smiling and continue to try your best with the home learning activities. Make sure you have time to rest and relax too!
Here are some activities for the start of the week:

Maths – ‘Tenths.’ You will be using fractions to show how many parts of a shape are red, and how many parts are blue. This activity is on Google Classroom and is called ‘Tenths.’ If not using Google Classroom, you can use the link attached and complete the questions on paper.
Science – This week, we will be following an investigation with Professor Brian Cox. The question being asked is, “If we move the screen, what happens to the size of the shadow?”
Use the link to watch the short video. This link and the activity are both on Google Classroom too, called ‘Shadow Investigation.’ What I would like you to do after watching the video is make a prediction – what do you think will happen to the size of the shadow? Try to think about why  you think that will happen too. You can access the activity using the pdf attached.
Literacy – On Google Classroom, there is a video of chapter 9 of ‘The Butterfly Lion’ and an activity. You will be writing about a time that you were brave. I have attached a pdf of the activity.
Here are some links to videos that we regularly use in class. The first ones are ones we have used for exercise time. I have also included ones that we have used for relaxation time. You might want to have a look at these at home too.
Please remember, if you need any help with any of the work, you can send a message on Google Classroom or using Purple Mash email.
We look forward to seeing your lovely work!
