We have had a lovely first week back. We launched our new topic Space and loved watching the video of Sporkle the friendly alien flying over our playground. In expressive arts, we have drawn pictures of what we think Sporkle looks like and in literacy, we have been busy writing sentences about ourselves to help Sporkle learn about humans. This week, we have introduced comprehension style activities and the children managed very well with them. In maths, we have been counting in 10s and doing quick fire counting such as 4x10s, 8x10s and the children were very quick with their answers!
Next week we will be continuing with learning about Space, we will be creating our own alien character and we will be describing it in our writing. We will be exploring more comprehension style questions and learning to read the questions carefully. We will also be looking at some welsh words for space to expand our vocabulary.
Reminders and Requests!
Could I please ask children to bring in a clean, empty plastic bottle (one that would usually be put in the recycling bin NOT a reusable one). We will be having a science investigation on Monday and we will be making holes in these plastic bottles (so they will end up being damaged which is why we do not want your smart lunch bottles).
There will be Muddy Monday on Monday so please come to school dressed in your old, warm clothes. Please bring your wellies too!
Please return book bags on Monday.
Please remember a clean, plastic bottle.
Have a lovely weekend.
