Year 2: Weekly Overview

This week we have got straight back into working hard! The children started off the week by writing about the Easter holidays! We worked hard remembering our capital letters, full stops and spellings of tricky words. Then we listened to the story of David and Goliath. We heard how David had to be brave and trust God would look after him. We thought about a time when we have been brave!
On Wednesday, we became Kings and Queens for the day and launched our new topic of castles. We took part in Medieval dancing and created our own shields. Yesterday, we looked at the various jobs in a castle and we applied for jobs! We completed application forms and took part in interviews which are on our Google Classrooms (under classwork – castles). The good news is the children all got the jobs they wanted!

Next week we will be continuing to look at 3D shapes and their properties. In literacy, we will be writing about Cinderella characters and trying to use adjectives in our sentences. We will be looking at the artist Paul Klee and his work Castle in the Sun.

Please remember Muddy Monday on Monday so come in old, warm clothes and bring your wellies. Also, please remember your book bags too!

Thank you, we hope you have a lovely weekend!
