Year 2: Weekly Overview

We have had a great last week of term! We finished off our topic of space with a little science investigation to understand how day and night happen and a Cosmic Kids Yoga in PE. Then later in the week we made constellations using sweets and cocktail sticks!
We celebrated Valentine’s Day by making origami hearts which we have used to decorate our Compassion display. Yesterday we had Values Day where we learnt all about our value of Compassion. The children enjoyed visiting the prayer stations in the hall and thinking of times when they have shown compassion to others.
After half term our first week back will be quite busy!
Firstly we will be launching our new topic during Muddy Monday so please remember your wellies.
On Wednesday 1st is St David’s Day we will be having our own school eisteddfod and we will be performing the poem ‘Welsh Daffodils’ (we have started to learn it in school, please try and learn some more of it at home).Pupils are welcome to come to school dressed in something red or traditional Welsh costume, whichever they would prefer.
On Friday 3rd, we will be celebrating World Book Day. Pupils are welcome to come to school dressed in a book related costume. We will be taking part in lots of fun activities to help promote this special day!
Please remember your book bags.
We hope you have a lovely half term and we look forward to hearing about your week off.
