Year 2: Week beginning 28th September 2020

Pnawn Da!

We can’t believe that it is nearly October already! Where have the last few weeks disappeared to? You all had a wonderful week last week and worked super hard. We are especially impressed with some of the independent writing and drawing that you have done in the writing office!

This week we will continue with our theme of Autumn. In PE you will be carrying on with your leaf dance so don’t forget to come to school in your PE kits tomorrow. We will carry on reading The Wind in the Willows and working on descriptive sentences about the story and characters in our writing. As you know Toad was obsessed with cars so this week we will work in groups to find pictures of cars through the ages and organise them on a timeline.

In maths you will be learning all about right angles and we will carry on consolidating place value in numbers up to 100. We will look again at adding and taking away 10 from numbers and we will start to practice counting on in 2s, 5s and 10s from different starting points.

In science you will carry on learning about animals and their habitats and in PSD you will be learning about decision making.

In RE you will continue to learn about Christian Beliefs and we will be holding small daily class worships.

Don’t forget to bring in a water bottle each day. Please remember that for drinks throughout the day only water is permitted as we are a healthy school. Squash or juice cartons are fine for lunchtime if you bring in sandwiches.

Thank you to those of you (and your parents) that have completed your activity on Google Classroom and left comments. For those of you that haven’t had chance yet, you have until Friday to hand it in.

We can’t wait to see you all this week.

Mrs Hughes 😊, Mrs Williams 😊, Mrs Ashcroft 😊, Miss Scott 😊 and Mrs McCaffrey 😊
