As we wrap up our final week of the school year, I am filled with pride and joy reflecting on all the wonderful moments we’ve shared together. What a brilliant year it has been!
This week we started with a real highlight as we were introduced to mTiny, our new coding robot. The children had an absolute blast coding mTiny to move from point A to point B. It was wonderful to see their excitement and teamwork as they learned the basics of coding and debugging in such a fun and interactive way.
We also completed an end-of-year memories task where the children shared pictures of their friends and teachers, favourite topics, and things they were most proud of. It was heartwarming to see them recall topics from earlier in the year with such enthusiasm. Some children even mentioned trying a vegetarian sausage as their proudest moment! While it might not have been what we were expecting, it certainly shows their adventurous spirit. Their reflections revealed how much they’ve enjoyed and grown throughout the year.
Towards the end of the week, we enjoyed playing in our classroom areas, soaking up our final moments together. On Wednesday, we attended the Year 6 leavers service, a special occasion that gave us a glimpse of what lies ahead for our older peers.
Today, we said a fond farewell to one of our favorite teachers, Mrs. McCaffrey. Her Tuesday afternoon lessons have always been a highlight, filled with fun, love, and laughter. The children always cheered with excitement whenever it was announced that she would be joining us for the afternoon. We will miss her dearly and wish her all the very best on her next adventure.
This afternoon, we rounded off the year in our beloved forest school setting. It was the perfect way to end our year, enjoying nature and the outdoors, reflecting on our wonderful journey together.
On a personal note, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the parents and caregivers for your support throughout the year. Your gifts and well wishes have meant the world to me. It has been a true privilege to teach your children. They have all worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of their achievements, not just academically, but in growing as confident, kind young individuals. I have no doubt they will continue to thrive in Year 2, and I am certain they will continue to make us all very proud.
Wishing you all a fantastic summer break. Take it easy, enjoy your time together, and above all else, keep on smiling.
