News: End of Term Information

Dear Parents

The last few weeks have been so lovely in school, hearing the laughter and chatter and seeing the smiles on children’s faces has been wonderful.

I am very proud of all the children, they have worked very hard with home learning and have settled in very well after such a long break. It is nice to see them enjoying learning in school once more.

I would like to send my personal thanks to each parent for the support we have received during remote learning. Home schooling is not easy when you are juggling so many other things, so a big thank you for persevering and helping.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, they worked extremely hard during lock down to ensure all pupils received a variety of activities, as well as teaching themselves how to fully use “Google Classroom” and various other ICT tools!!!

We can now look forward to the Summer Term, hopefully we will be able to enjoy better weather and continue to work together to drive the virus rates down even further.

Reminders for Summer Term

We have relaxed our uniform policy whilst the pupils have returned but would like to see pupils from Nursery through to Year 5 wearing uniform from Monday 12th April.

Year 6 pupils may continue to wear “non-uniform”, as I completely understand that some pupils may have grown out of their uniform and it doesn’t make sense to purchase new just for the summer term. We have ordered the leavers jumpers and when these arrive, the pupils will be able to wear them.

Training Days

A reminder our training days planned for after Easter have been changed to Thursday 6th and Friday 7th May.School will start for everyone after Easter on Monday 12th April.

Parent Pay

You should have received letters about the new payment system for school dinners, snack and breakfast club.We need you to set this system up prior to the children returning after the Easter Holidays. You will also need to pre-book school dinners before 8am.You can book in advance up to two weeks. You must pay for the meals within two hours of booking or the system will delete the booking. Those of you who are entitled to a free school meal MUST also register and pre-book your meals. This is a new system for all of us, so please bear with us during the transition.

If your child develops any symptoms of Covid-19 over the coming weekend, please ensure you get them tested. If they test positive, please email [email protected] . This is essential as we will need to inform parents of any close contacts to a positive case. The email address will be checked on Monday evening only.

It is reassuring to see Covid-19 rates decreasing across Wales, and as we see rules beginning to be relaxed, please can I ask you all to be mindful and follow what is asked of us to ensure we are all safe.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter break and we look forward to seeing everybody back on 12th April.Thank you all again for your support.
